Latest energy efficiency regulation (EC) no 2019 / 2121
ERP regulation (EC) no 2019 / 2121 for lighting products was published in the official journal of the European Union on October 1, 2019. This regulation will take effect on the 20th day after the official publication of the official journal of the European Union, that is, on October 20, 2019, and is directly applicable to all EU Member States. The regulation will be enforced from September 1, 2021, and the current regulations (EC) 244 / 2009, (EC) 245 / 2009 and (EU) 1194 / 2012 will be repealed on the same day.
1. According to the regulation, all lighting products within the scope of the three existing regulations (EC 244 / 2009, EC 245 / 2009 and EU 1194 / 2012) shall be included in this regulation. In addition, the energy efficiency of such lighting products must be calculated by a unified formula.
2. In the aspect of environmental protection of lighting products, the regulation mainly involves energy consumption and mercury content.
3. The maintainability of the light source is supported by regulations.
4. The regulation specifies the specific requirements for standby and interconnection reserve power demand of lighting products. Therefore, the requirements in regulation (EC) no 1275 / 2008 are no longer applicable to lighting products within the scope of this regulation.
5. The regulation applies to all lighting products installed or used in the EU market, not based on the application program used by the product.
6. For light sources with special technology for special applications, including those related to health and safety, and where there is no substitute for higher energy efficiency, such lighting products are exempted from this regulation.
7. The latest reliable, accurate and repeatable measurement methods should be used to measure relevant product parameters. Reference may be made to the uniform standards adopted by the European Organization for standardization, where applicable, e.g. regulation No. 1025 / 2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
8. This regulation specifies the conformity assessment procedures applicable to lighting products.
9. In order to improve test compliance, manufacturers, importers and authorized representatives shall provide relevant information in accordance with the technical documents of Annex IV and V to directive 2009 / 125 / EC, as well as information related to the requirements specified in the regulation.
10. In accordance with the information declaration method specified in Commission Regulation (EU) 2016 / 2282, which specifies tolerance values for lighting parameters.
